A closeup of a hand holding a compass. Signifying ikigai-kan is a force that points your compass towards your purpose in life.

Ikigai-kan is your emotional compass.

You’re here because something about ikigai resonates with you. Maybe you’re navigating change — in school, work, or life. Maybe you’re simply curious. Either way, welcome.

Contrary to the popular myth, ikigai isn’t a goal to chase. It’s a feeling — a sense of alignment between what you do and what deeply matters to you. That feeling can become your compass, quietly pointing toward fulfillment, even when the path is uncertain.

Whether you’re launching a career, changing direction, or just figuring things out — having this inner compass can make all the difference.

I’m Kei ('K') Tsuda, your guide on this journey.

I created IKIGAI Study Group as a space to learn, reflect, and grow together — across cultures and in community. We welcome everyone: students, professionals, and curious explorers. No prior knowledge needed. We mostly use English, but we honor the Japanese roots of ikigai with phrases and kanji along the way.

Curious about my approach to ikigai? I discuss some of it on this podcast.
